iPhone 5 To Be Launched In September
Next generation iPhone, Apple will not release the iPhone 5 until September.
Bloomberg has boldly claimed that the "iPhone 5 is scheduled hit the market in September". It also suggests that the device will run on a new A5 SoC (System on Chip) consisting of a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and a PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU. The camera module on the phone is also expected to get a much-needed upgrade. However, the report only says that the new version will have a more advanced camera. I think this could mean an improved sensor, or maybe an 8 megapixel camera.
The report also reveals that the iPhone has accounted for half the company's revenues in the last year. This is reason enough for any manufacturer to launch a newer version. In addition, Apple is working on a cheaper iPhone, according to the sources. This phone will be targeted to people in developing countries and will be similar in design to the iPhone 4. In addition, Apple may be phasing out support for the iPhone 3G and 3GS when the new iOS 5 is released, so that it can work on ensuring the best possible experience for its users.
